Out all day birdwatching
And the craic was good
Stopped off at Strangford Lough
Early in the morning

These beautiful leggy winter visitors await ebb tide in a field overlooking the Lough. A pleasant scene contrasting with the pathos of one observed in the 1850s: "Crowded together in cages, fattened for the table, pitiable in their resigned tameness, they seemed to bear their captivity with the same quiet manner that distinguishes them in their wild state."
