Donaghmore is associated with Bishop Mac Erca, son of St Bronagh. In the grounds of the Church of Ireland stands a beautifully carved granite cross with ural carvings and a head ring, the only High Cross in Down to possess this feature. It is a symbol of long-continued Christian worship in the area.
