Tawny Owl is one of the most thoroughly nocturnal species. It inhabits woods, old gardens or farmland. It has classic owl features with a rounded head, large dark eyes and a hooked beak. It is responsible for the most commonly heard owl sound, the nocturnal 'twit twoo' call.
