Struell Wells

£100.00

Near Downpatrick. Perhaps the most remarkable series of holy wells in Ireland, the complex comprises two wells, two bathhouses and the ruins of a church. For many years it was a place of pilgrimage, its waters blessed by St Patrick and believed to have curative powers. High on the side of the hill overlooking the site is a stone formation known as St Patrick’s Chair from which there is a sweeping view of the Lecale peninsula.
